Comfortel De Champ is located in the village Picard in the North-West of Dominica, about 1.5 miles south of Portsmouth, the 2nd largest city of the island - well, large city... :-) and we are just 5 min walk from Ross University.
The West-side of Dominica lies on the Caribbean Sea. It's the warmer and a bit dryer side of the island but because Picard lies on the foot of the highest mountain of the island, Morne Diablotin of almost 5000 feet, there is often a refreshing tropical shower.
Both airports of Dominica are at about 45 minutes by car and it is most likely that you will arrive at Melville Hall Airport. I If you wish, we will come and pick you up or we can arrange that a rental car will be waiting there for you. DRIVE LEFT!! See below for how-to-get-to-De-Champ.

Another option is that you will arrive by ferry from one of the other islands. Then you will arrive in the new ferry-terminal in the capital Roseau. That is about an hours' drive by car and also there we will be happy to pick you up or arrange someone with a sign who will take you to your rental car. See how-to-get-to-De-Champ.

• Coming from Melville Hall Airport:
  After leaving the parking follow the road that goes straight on and then bends to the left.
  Keep following the main road that winds through some villages. After Calibishie you go up into the rain forest and after some 10 minutes you have to pay attention: at a busstop and big sign (Chaudiere Pool) on the left side you must follow the road that goes with a 90 degree angle over the bridge. (So not a straight left)
  Then continue to follow the road until you are in Portsmouth passed the sportsfield on the right hand side. There, at the T-crossing you take a left. Then passed the bridge and passed the gasoline station you will have 2 side streets on you left. After those the main road turns left and up (don't go straight towards the small port).
  Follow the road until you see the big white building of Ross University on your right. Exactly opposite the main entrance of Ross (entrance with security control) you turn left. Then take the 3rd road to the left which goes up the hill. Follow this road less than 1/2 a mile until you reach Comfortel De Champ.
• Coming from Canefield Airport:
  To the road going to the North (the sea on you left side) and follow the main road with all its turns and potholes for some 45 to 50 minutes. You'll pass several villages and 1 time you cross a bridge with separate lanes going over a fairly wide river. Passed the bridge you go left and continue to follow the main road. At a certain moment the road becomes much wider with left and right several buildings. Now you are in Picard.
  When you see a big complex with white buildings on your left, then you have reached Ross Univeristy. Exactly opposite the main entrance of Ross (entrance with security control) you turn right. Then take the 3rd road to the left which goes up the hill. Follow this road less than 1/2 a mile until you reach Comfortel De Champ.
• Coming from Roseau:
  The first challenge: nowhere on the island are any signs for directions. :-) From the ferry terminal drive into the town and turn left into the road where many cars are trying to get out of the city; that's Great George Street - Click on the map on the right for a bigger image -. If you choose the right road (or ask a local) then you will pass a bridge over the Roseau-river. At the end of the brigde turn left and follow the main road. You are now just an hour away from your destination. Follow from this point the details from coming from Canefield Airport which you will pass on your left side after about 10 minutes.
